Digital innovation
Nambisan et al. (2018) [1] define digital innovation as the creation of (and consequent change in) market offerings, business processes, or models that result from the use of digital technology (p. 224). Fichman et al. (2014) [2] understand the concept as a product, process, or business model that is perceived as new, requires some significant changes on the part of adopters, and is embodied in or enabled by IT (p. 330).
Youngjin Yoo, Dick Boland, Ola Henfridsson, Michael Barrett, Brian Pentland, Patrick Cohendet, Raghu Garud, and Marleen Huysman reflect on the opportunities and challenges that innovating with digital technologies bring for organizations in the digital age.
